Counselling Journeys

What counselling may look like over time

Counselling is not one-size-fits-all. Some people come with one focused concern, while others need more time to understand deeper patterns, process past experiences, or rebuild a steadier sense of self. These journeys are not fixed packages or promises. They are a way to help you understand what may be possible depending on the length and focus of our work together.

Clarity Journey

Around 3–5 sessions

A shorter counselling journey for when you want to begin making sense of one focused concern.

This may be suitable if you are navigating a recent stressor, a specific concern, or a pattern you are beginning to notice. Across a few sessions, we may explore what has been happening, identify what feels stuck, and begin developing clearer next steps.

Often helpful for: initial clarity, focused decision-making, and beginning to notice a recurring pattern.

Growth Journey

Around 6–8 sessions

A deeper counselling journey for recurring emotional, relational, or life patterns that need more time and attention.

This may be suitable if you are noticing patterns in your relationships, self-worth, anxiety, boundaries, family dynamics, burnout, or the way you respond to yourself and others. Over time, we work towards greater emotional awareness, healthier coping, and more intentional ways of responding.

Often helpful for: self-worth, relationship patterns, emotional regulation, life transitions, identity, and personal growth.

Deep Recovery Journey

Around 10–12+ sessions

A longer-term counselling journey for experiences that may need gentler pacing, deeper processing, and more consistent support.

This may include trauma-informed work, adverse childhood experiences, inner child work, grief, family-of-origin patterns, or long-standing ways of coping that once helped you survive but may no longer support the life you want to live.

This work is not rushed. We begin by building safety, understanding your patterns, and strengthening your internal resources before moving into deeper processing where appropriate.

Often helpful for: trauma recovery, grief, childhood experiences, family-of-origin patterns, inner child work, and rebuilding a steadier sense of self.
